The Genesis: Industrial Control panel
The Genesis industrial control panel is used to control tube motors from our range with up to 150Nm of torque. An excellent solution for both home and commercial installations, the Genesis can hold memory of up to 100 transmitters that can operate from a distance of 30 metres from the door.
The panel comes complete with two Ellard remote controls that are quick and easy to set up, and even easier to use. Follow along with this article to learn the answers to some frequently asked questions our customers have asked about our Ellard remotes.
How to Program Ellard’s Remote to the Genesis
Users can choose between two styles of controllers for their Genesis panel, the grey Genesis transmitter and the white Genesis transmitter (previously known as the white Athena).
Whichever remote you choose, Programming is simple:
The grey Genesis transmitter
Press the SW1 button once.
The Green LED on the front cover will start flashing slowly.
Press the up button on the Ellard remote.
The LED will then start flashing quickly, this means the programming is complete.
The white Genesis transmitter
Press the SW1 button once.
The Green LED on the front cover will start flashing slowly.
Press the circle button on the Ellard remote.
The LED will then start flashing quickly, this means the programming is complete.
How to reset Ellard’s Genesis remote.
Users can easily delete all memory from The Genesis. This will mean the panel will no longer be linked to the controller, an easy solution that will keep your property safe if any are stolen or misplaced.
Here’s how to reset the Ellard remote in 3 simple steps:
Hold down the SW1 button on the panel until the green LED begins to flash slowly.
Wait until the LED starts flashing fast and then release the SW1 button.
Press the SW1 button once.
The Genesis will now be reset.
How to open Ellard’s Remote and change the battery.
If you need to change the battery of your grey Genesis Transmitter simply turn the controller away from you (buttons facing away) and pull the cord towards your body. This will open the casing of the controller. From here you will be able to access and change the battery. For reference, see the demonstration video below.
For the white Genesis Transmitter, to reveal the battery simply unscrew the casing from the back of the device.
Both remotes use a CR2O32 3-volt lithium battery. These typically have a two to three-year lifespan. Something to note is that some owners of the grey Genesis remote mistake that it is out of battery when they have instead accidentally locked their remote. Before changing the battery, try following the next step to ensure this isn’t the case.
How to lock and unlock the Ellard remote.
The grey Genesis Transmitter comes with an added safety feature where users can lock and unlock the controller. This is an excellent feature that stops users from accidentally activating their doors.
Here’s how to lock and unlock your controller:
Hold down the middle stop button.
Wait 5-6 seconds until the blue LED flashes.
Release the button.
These easy three steps will lock and unlock your controller!
